More Nursery Pictures

Chris made a cool growth chart for Maddie. It turned out so cute and I love his idea of adding her picture every year on her birthday. I had no idea he was creative! Funny story...my friend and I were trying to figure out how we would hold her against the wall to measure her height. Chris looked at me like I had lost my mind and said, "Uh, you measure her laying down then mark it on the chart genius. " Duh!!! It will be a nice tradition each year until she no longer thinks it's cool, of course. The door leads to her bathroom.

She still thinks it's party time in her crib. All the colors make her excited and she won't sleep!

Madeline's Nursery

Well it's taken a while, but we've finally completed Madeline's room. Well..almost! We still need to add a rug and some pictures on one of the walls. Thanks to all the help from my sister, Aunt Mary Ann, Aunt Margaret and my cousins, Tina and Angela, we now have a beautiful and peaceful room for Maddie. She's been napping in her room, but is not sleeping over night in it yet.

5th Family Member

So, you have met Madeline, Mom, Dad and Bella the Cat. There is ,however, a fifth member of the family that does not appear very often, but we figured we better take a moment to acknowledge her.....Ladies and gentleman ......Please meet Madeline's alter ego...........Mad-A-Lot.

Mad-A-Lot only comes out when gas bubbles and reflux are around (and sometimes when Mom or Dad is too slow with the bottle).

We have seen a lot less of Mad-A-Lot lately as it seems Madeline wants the spotlight to herself.

Anyway, here are a few pictures of the rarely seen (and hopefully soon to be extinct) Mad-A-Lot.

Wow, Two Months Old!!!

It's hard to believe it, but Madeline is already 2 months old. Of course she's advanced and one would think she was much older. She's holding up her head on her own, putting weight on her legs and still turning over. She had her 2 month visit to the doctor. He said she looked great and healthy and kept talking to her and calling her beautiful.

The mean nurses came in and gave her shots on both of her legs. Grandpa and Grandma Walker came along. Grandpa Walker warned the nurses not to hurt his granddaughter. One nurse said it was the other nurses shot that hurt, not hers. Madeline made her best pouty face, huffed and huffed and let out the loudest scream I've every heard. It broke my heart. Once Mommy picked her up she was fine and seemed to forget it quickly. Poor baby!

Maddie is in the 70th percentile for weight and height. She weighs 11 lbs. 9 ounces and is 22 3/4 inches long. She is growing nicely. Even with the reflux she's thriving and healthy. As you can see from the pictures she's a happy baby too. Her smiles are what we look forward to the most. She especially smiles at Daddy, her stuffed monkey, and her ladybug mobile.

Our Siamese cat, Bella, is getting use to having a human sister. She's getting closer and more curious, but not too curious. She's adjusting more than we expected. She even licked her head a few times!!! So cute! She seems to "get it" and seems to like Madeline a lot, except when she screams. Bella actually has beautiful blue eyes, but they always photograph red. She's not as scary as she looks.

Smiles and Gecko's

I have started smiling a lot lately, but I usually stop when the camera is raised for some reason (shy). On the rare occasion that mom and dad can catch me smiling it looks something like this. Half smile
Smiles are tiring.
I had yet another visitor this week. A little albino gecko found his way into my house. He just loved to hand out on the wall up by the ceiling.
Dad (and the help of a broom) kindly asked him to relocate into the backyard. He reluctantly agreed.

Fathers Day

Fathers day was filled with one wonderful new development, Something caught madeline's funny bone and she spent the entire day smiling.....It was the best fathers day present ever.

AAAAAAHHHHH..........aaaaaaahhhhhh
Now I have dad's double chin.......and haircut.

Week 6

Madeline is growing too fast. She is such a strong baby. She has become much more alert and active and is becoming more aware of her environment. Maddie is starting to grab for things (including my hair). She still turns over from her stomach to her back and even stands straight up and down while we're holding her. We definately need to watch her at all times. The best part of the day is when she smiles. When she wakes up in the morning I say, "Good morning!" and she kicks and gives me a huge smile. Melts my heart.

We've had some ups and downs with her GERD. (acid reflux) She's had some improvmement, but still has some pain when she eats. Hopefully, the doctor will give her something stronger when she visits next week. It's so hard to see her struggle to eat and scream when she is burped. Heartbreaking.

Enjoy the newest pictures of Maddie. Look how much more hair she has and how big her eyes are. She is so cute!

Yes this really is my tongue........I was trying to catch a fly but I missed!

I still fit in the sink....but not for long!

Boston Comes To Visit

Mary Ann's cousins and aunts came to visit and help. We had a blast and they fell in love with Madeline instantly. In fact, I think they thought she was their baby. Aunt Margaret and Aunt Mary Ann helped decorate Madeline's nursery. We have a few more touches to make and will post pictures when it's done. Cousin Angela was helpful too. She organized all of Madeline's clothes. They were all laughing at all the clothes she has and said their girls never had that much. Cousin Tina helped us get Maddie on a sleep schedule. She's had great success with her 3 kids and her advice was greatly appreciated. So far, so good! Except when her acid reflux kicks in.
