No fear! She went right up with the big kids on everything. She loves adventure.

Opening birthday presents

She started out polished...hair perfect, close straightened. It took 10 minutes to get to this point.

Maddie had a blast at her 2nd birthday party. We went to Pump It Up and had some friends and family there with us. Aunt Christine even came from Ottawa. Balloons are so much fun!

Happy Birthday!

Our baby girl is now 2!!!! It is so hard to believe!

This year has flown by. What an amazing adventure it has been watching her grow. I feel so blessed to be her mom and am so thankful for every moment with her.

What I've learned about Madeline...
-she is sweet and loving and sensitive
-she has no fear
-she is very persistant
-she has a great sense of humor
-she is very smart and has a great memory
-she is very independent
-she loves the outdoors, especially bugs
-she loves Dora, Elmo, The Wiggles, and LadyBugs
-loves to dance and loves the Black Eyed Peas (go figure)

Year 2 has been a BLAST! Can't wait to see what year 3 brings.


Age 2 Milestones:
*runs, jumps, climbs(even the big kid stuff)
*walks up stairs standing up, without holding on
*eats with folk and spoon (when she's not throwing her food...ugh)
*drinks from a sippy cup, straw and water bottle; drinks from a cup with help
*draws with crayons and pens (on the sofa and wall once)
*can get out of crib, but has learned to call us instead
*washes hands and brushes teeth

The Great Escape

Well...we thought we had more time, but I guess not. Chris put Madeline to bed for a nap and she went down easily, as usual. A few minutes later, he heard the stair gate shaking and thought it was me. Actually, it was Maddie. She climbed out of her crib! We asked her to show us how she did it and put her back in. She swings one leg over the side, pulls over, hangs down and lets go. Big girl bed is around the corner. Our baby is growing up too fast! Sigh!

Sock Hop!

Madeline had a blast at her first dance at Mommy's school. We had our annual Sock Hop and got her all dolled up to get her boogie on. She had fun looking at all the sites and sounds, but got a bit overwhelmed with all the attention. My students were so excited to see her and dance with her. This made her a bit nervous. She did warm up after a while and danced too.

Sooooo cute! A friend, at work, made the skirt.

She kept using the cotton candy as a pillow. That was my cue that it was time to go home. She had fun, but got overwhelmed quickly. My students kept wanting to play with her and take pictures of her, which made her nervous.

Madeline and Grandma Walker (Nanna)

We had a quiet Christmas at home with grandma and grandpa. There was snow on the ground all day which was a great change.

75 attempts at a family Christmas photo......this was the only keeper really.

Madeline and her Christmas big wheel. She loves to be pushed around on it, but her feet are not quite long enough to peddle yet.

The tickle me Elmo hands seemed like the perfect gift. Right now Madeline has two favorite things....Elmo....and being tickled. This should have been a no-brainer can't miss, however, she's actually afraid of them.

Her new baby makes little bottle feeding sounds when the bottle is stuck in her mouth. Madeline likes it......creeps mom and dad out a little bit.

Took a little while for Madeline to realize the stroller was for the doll.....
